Don't have access to a milling machine? No problem!
This full 3 axis option provides the same high performance as our integrated kit, but requires minimal tools to install.

  • 3 Axis Measurement
  • Internal Saddle and Compound Slide Sensor
  • Compatible with the taper turning attachment
  • 2 Micron Resolution
  • Why Choose MicroDRO?

    1. Accurate: Adding a MicroDRO to your Myford lathe take it to a whole new level. With 2 micron resolution you'll be able to effortlessly machine down to incredibly low tolerances.
    2. Robust: By mounting the DRO inside the lathe, its protected from swarf, impact and scratches. As backup we've got stainless steel protective strips over the sensor and magnetic scale, along with foam wipers to keep it clean.
    3. Seamless Integration: Our DRO system is designed to seamlessly integrate with Myford lathes, making installation a breeze. It feels like it was always meant to be there.
    4. Easy to install: The sensors are just 2mm thick, so  there is only minimal machining required for our integrated kits. It is entirely possible to install the kit in half a day. We even offer a bolt-on kit requiring just two small holes to be drilled (using a regular hand drill) if you don't own a milling machine, but still want a sleek, high accuracy DRO whilst allowing all the Myford accessories to be used.
    5. Taper turning attachment: No problem! - as the kits are fully integrated into the lathe, you can use a taper turning attachment with MicroDRO. No other competitor DRO manufacturer can match this.
    6. Compound/top slide fully supported: Our sensors are just 2mm thick, allowing them to comfortably fit inside the compound/top slide - this is the only 3-axis DRO for Myford lathes on the market.

    Meet Chris, MicroDRO founder

I bought myself a second-hand Myford Super 7 lathe on a mission to build myself a bike frame. I've taken a slight detour, as I when I went to buy a DRO system, I discovered all of the compromises that other manufacturers were getting away with. This lead me down a rabbit hole to create an accurate, no compromise DRO to fit to my lathe without disturbing the classic style.

When I told some fellow engineers about it, they wanted one too. I've spent months perfecting the design so that Myford lovers everywhere can have the most accurate DRO around.
I love chatting machine tools and general nerdy maker things, feel free to drop me an email chris@microdro.com
